SOGGY SUNDAY
After a wintry blast on Saturday that brought up to 9 inches of snow to the higher elevations inland, we’re trading the snowflakes for raindrops today — and plenty of them. It’s a cool, damp, and breezy start to our Sunday across much of the region, and showers will be sticking around for most of the day.
Rain will be most persistent east of 495, and if you’re closer to the coast, expect to pick up around a half inch of rain. The Cape and Islands could see even more — closer to an inch by the time all is said and done. The good news? All that fresh snow from yesterday will melt quickly today, especially in the higher terrain.
Temperatures will struggle to get out of the upper 40s this afternoon, and the breeze will keep things feeling even cooler. Showers taper off late tonight, setting the stage for a much brighter start to the workweek.
THIS WEEK
Monday brings the sunshine back, and we’ll warm into the mid 60s — a welcome turnaround after our soggy Sunday. The next round of rain arrives early Tuesday, with another push of warmer air keeping highs in the mid 60s again. A front swings through Tuesday afternoon, which could spark a few isolated showers.
By Wednesday, we’re back to sunshine — though cooler — with highs in the 50s. And if you’re looking ahead to late week plans, the forecast looks promising: dry weather sticks around through Friday.
