Dreary Saturday ahead

RAIN IS SLOW TO ABATE

Saturday morning brings wet weather across most of our viewing area for another day. As we move into the afternoon, the rain will gradually taper off, but it will still be a gloomy day overall, with plenty of mist hanging around. Highs will reach the low to mid 60s, with the steadiest rain expected in southeast Massachusetts. A coastal flood advisory is in effect due to the persistent northeast breeze, which increases the chance of flooding along east-facing coastlines. Rough surf should be expected as well with waves up to 10 feet off the coastline.

SUNDAY CLEARING

By Sunday, we will finally begin to dry out, with partial clearing through the afternoon. The only areas that might still see some morning rain are the Cape and Islands. Highs will again be in the mid 60s, and the northeast breeze will persist, though not as strong as earlier in the weekend. While it won’t be completely sunny, it will be an overall improvement compared to Saturday.

LOOKING AHEAD

The weather will brighten more on Monday, with some sunshine returning and highs potentially reaching the upper 60s. Tuesday will stay dry as well, with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 60s.

Our next significant chance for rain will arrive on Wednesday or Thursday of next week.
