WINTER CHILL WINDS

Bitter cold air is in place for much of the week. Winds will ramp back up Tuesday and Wednesday with gusts over 30 mph regularly. Some will be stronger than 40 mph. That’ll add an extra chill to the air for sure. The weather stays dry through at least Friday.

WEEKEND SHIFT

More seasonable temperature will return Friday, which means highs in the upper 30s. For now, the weekend forecast looks dry and cloudy. A storm will develop in the southeastern US and strengthen over the Atlantic Saturday night. We’ll need to monitor trends to make sure it doesn’t track closer as a nor’easter. One model, the GFS, has a big snowstorm hitting us. While that is not the favored track at this point, it does show why we need to keep an eye on it as the storm develops.
