SATURDAY RAIN & WIND
Get set for a cool, soggy, and windy start to the weekend. Temperatures will remain in the 40s all day. Steady rain will last through at least midday across southern New England. Interior towns will see drizzle and showers taper off early or mid afternoon, but the coast will remain damp most of the day. The evening is shaping up drier, but still very windy. Sustained NW wind 15-25 will gust 30-40 mph across the region, with some towns seeing gusts to 50 mph.
SUNDAY IMPROVEMENTS... SORT OF
Blustery and cool weather will continue Sunday. The forecast will be a little brighter, but that won’t help much with the warm up. Highs will make it to about 50 degrees, which is very typical for late November. You’ll need to dress for a chill, especially with more widespread gusts 30-45 mph.
TRAVEL NEXT WEEK
The best (AKA dry) travel days next week will be Monday and Wednesday. Rain showers will pass through Tuesday, and there’s the potential for a bigger storm late in the week. For now it looks like chilly rain developing Thanksgiving afternoon. If a nor’easter develops, as hinted at by a couple forecast models, that rain would shift to snow overnight inland and last into Friday. Keep in mind, Friday may be a messy and difficult day for travel with a mix of rain and snow across the region - not to mention wind. Be sure to check back as much can shift with a storm system this far out.
