Boston 25 Weather

Keeping an eye on snow, ice and rain this week

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

NICE START TO THE WEEK

Tuesday will be “mild” again with highs around 40 degrees. A mix of sun and clouds will run the show. It will be breezy too, with a northwest breeze 15-20 mph in the afternoon with gusts 30-40 mph. Any streams that flow out of the snowbanks today will freeze overnight.

Get set for a dip Wednesday with morning teens and highs only in the low 30s, despite mostly sunny skies.

THURSDAY MIX

A WEATHER ALERT will be needed Thursday. Snow will develop mid to late morning and continue much of the afternoon north of the Mass Pike. A slow change to rain and freezing rain will slide from south to north. Although roads look wet for the evening commute south of the Pike and into the Boston area, northern roads may still be slick. The wintry mix will taper off in the evening.

You’ll see a high near 40 in the forecast Thursday. Keep in mind, it will take all day to get there as temperatures will actually peak late in the evening.

QUICK WEEKEND STORM TOO

We’re tracking another fast moving system that could bring some snow to the area on Saturday and Sunday. The bulk of the precipitation looks to come through overnight with snow changing to a mix or even rain by Sunday morning. Sunday doesn’t look like a washout but will likely feature a few hit or miss rain/snow showers and plentiful clouds.
