Fall feel and Hurricane Milton

COOLING DOWN

An October chill will be pronounced each morning this week. Dress in layers for wake-up 40s and afternoon 60s. I’m expecting a dry and partly sunny afternoon. A couple of showers will pop up in northern and western New England, but it will remain dry locally. We have a better chance for a brief isolated shower overnight as a cold front moves across the region, but coverage will be very limited. As a result, Thursday’s forecast is a little cooler and breezier.

WEEKEND IN VIEW

Brighter weather is in the works Friday and Saturday. Although Friday morning will feature the coldest sunrise of the week with some frost possible far inland, Saturday will be the warmest day with highs in the 70s! Sunday will bring us increasing clouds and developing showers late in the day or at night.

HURRICANE MILTON

Hurricane Milton is a powerful, dangerous hurricane. It will make landfall tonight, most likely as a category 4 hurricane between Tampa and Fort Myers. It will pack a massive punch with flooding rain, a major storm surge, and destructive winds for a large swath of Florida. Conditions will deteriorate through the day today. The worst of the wind and storm surge will peak overnight with lasting impacts through midday Thursday. By Thursday evening the storm will be out in the open Atlantic. There will be no impact to New England.
