COOL MORNING, BUT WARMING UP
Before the warming, it’ll be a cool start Tuesday with wake-up 40s.
Morning clouds will give way to increasing sunshine and southwest winds. Temperatures will reach into the 70s on election day, so weather will not be an issue getting to the polls.
Wednesday will be even warmer! If Boston gets to 80, it’ll be the latest date on record being that warm.
FIRE WEATHER RISK
Gusts 20-30 mph and dry conditions will renew the concern for brush fires Tuesday and Wednesday. Record highs are possible midweek with Wednesday expected to land in the upper 70s in the greater Boston area. There’s next to no rain in the forecast this week, so the recent dry stretch is only enhancing the threat.
TEMPERATURES COOL LATE WEEK, STILL NO RAIN IN SIGHT
Thursday and Friday, temperatures will start to cool down slightly, with highs settling back into the 60s. A stretch of sunny and dry weather will carry us into the weekend with more November-like 50s. Unfortunately, this doesn’t help our ongoing severe drought, which persists across a portion of Massachusetts. The extended dry spell looks likely to continue into at least the middle of this month.
