Tom Brady set to play against Jets

Despite missing Friday's practice with an illness and being limited in Wednesday's with a knee injury, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is listed as active for New England's road contest against the New York Jets.

The Patriots confirmed reports that Brady would play on Sunday afternoon when they released their inactives list an hour and a half before kickoff. And while the inactives include seven Patriots players, neither Brady nor tight end Rob Gronkowski are listed.

Gronkowski has missed time this season with ankle and back injuries, and was listed with both on New England's injury report on Wednesday. He is set to make his first start since Buffalo in Week 8.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport originally tweeted out early Sunday morning that Brady was set to play at MetLife Stadium. Brady has not missed a start since returning from suspension at the beginning of the 2016-2017 season.

Brady missed practice on Friday for the first time this season, with illness listed as the official designation. The 41-year-old quarterback was also a limited participant for practice on Wednesday due to a knee ailment.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe reported that Brady traveled with the team to New Jersey Saturday, despite missing the previous day's practice and being listed as questionable with the  knee injury and illness.

Brady's absence from practice caused panic for some Patriots fans across New England. His knee injury reportedly came from a double pass against the Titans in the Patriots' most recent game.
