BOSTON — The Boston Bruins roared to a big win in Game 2, downing the Carolina Hurricanes, 6-2, thanks to a pair of goals in each period.
Matt Grzelcyk led all scorers with a pair of goals while Danton Heinen, David Backes, Jake DeBrusk and Connor Clifton also registered tallies in the contest. Clifton’s strike was the first of his NHL career.
The win gives Boston a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals and moves them two wins away from a berth in the Stanley Cup Final.
Now the series shifts to Raleigh, N.C. for Games 3 and 4, which will take place on Tuesday and Thursday night, respectively. If a Game 5 is necessary, it will be held in Boston on Saturday evening.
