Red Sox release health and safety protocols for 2021 fans as ticket sales open Thursday

BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox have announced that single-game tickets for the 2021 Major League Baseball season will go on sale Thursday, March 25 at 10 a.m. Along with that announcement came a detailed plan on how the organization will promote health and safety among fans during the ongoing pandemic.

Masks will be required to be work for all guests ages 2 and older unless people are actively eating or drinking in their seats. Along with the mandatory masks, fans will be required to fill out a health survey digitally on the day of the game.

Tickets will be sold in groups of two or four seats in what the organization is calling, “physically distanced ‘pods’ […] that allow for safe distance between groups.” All tickets will only be accessible digitally.

Fenway Park will be divided into five “neighborhood zones,” the organization said. Each zone will be made up of 1,500 fans, who will use designated gates to enter and leave the ballpark.

Fans will not be allowed to carry bags into Fenway Park either, with the exceptions of medical items and diaper bags.

The organization also released plans for how they will handle health and safety protocols at their concession stands, restrooms and team stores.
