Red Sox manager Alex Cora to bring World Series trophy to Puerto Rico

Now that the dust has cleared after the Red Sox won the World Series and had their championship parade, the victory tour for the team has officially begun.

The team's first stop came on Thursday night, as they visited TD Garden to show off their trophy during the Celtics game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Now, it looks like Red Sox manager Alex Cora and several members of the team and their front office will be heading to Puerto Rico Saturday to showcase the new hardware.

The team announced Cora, Red Sox chairman Tom Werner, Red Sox president and CEO Sam Kennedy and several players, coaches and front office members will make the trip to bring the 2018 World Series trophy to Cora's hometown of Caguas.

Brock Holt, Eduardo Rodriguez, Sandy Leon and Christian Vazquez are among the players making the trip, and William Miranda Torres, the mayor of Caguas, will be there for the team's arrival to escort Cora and the team to Caguas.

JetBlue is providing a Red Sox-themed plane for the trip, and will make a $1 donation to a charity of Cora's choice for every passenger that travels on the plane throughout November.

The trip will be the team's second to Puerto Rico in 2018, with one conducted back on January 30 to aid Hurricane Maria recovery efforts.
