BOSTON — While the Boston Red Sox are getting ready to welcome the Philadelphia Phillies to Fenway Park on Tuesday, the organization announced its schedule for 2020 Spring Training in Fort Meyers, Fla. on Monday.
The preseason will begin at JetBlue Park – the team's Spring Training home – on Friday, February 21 when the Red Sox hold their annual exhibition contest with the Northeastern University baseball team. The matchup will be one of 18 games the pro team plays at ‘Fenway South' during Spring Training.
The Red Sox will also play host to all four of their AL East foes during the exhibition season, including in their Grapefruit League home opener against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, February 22.
The Yankees Spring Training squad will travel to JetBlue Park on Friday February 29 with the Red Sox visiting George M. Steinbrenner Field – New York's Spring Training home – on March 3.
JetBlue Park will also welcome the Minnesota Twins on March 8 and March 22.

The 2019 Red Sox currently sit in third place in the AL East with a 67-59 record. They currently are six and a half games out of the final playoff spot in the American League.
