BOSTON — Hockey Hall of Famer and Bruins legend Bobby Orr is participating in a special raffle to benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation. As the club celebrates the 50-year anniversary of defeating St. Louis for the 1970 Stanley Cup Championship, Orr has agreed to offer his personal time to call the raffle winner’s mom on Mother’s Day.
To enter the raffle, visit the Boston Bruins Foundation website.
The team announced the following information about the promotion Thursday afternoon:
To celebrate this historic occasion, the Boston Bruins Foundation would like to give one lucky Bruins fan the chance to win the ultimate package to commemorate Bobby Orr’s “The Goal”. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity includes the following:
1. Bobby Orr “The Goal” Replica Statue - 1 of only 11 in existence, this is an exact replica of the large Bobby Orr statue that resides outside TD Garden. This rare piece of history measures 18” x 28”.
2. Bobby Orr will call your mother on Mother’s Day! - It just so happens that “The Goal” was scored 50 years ago on May 10, 1970, which happens to fall on Mother’s Day this year. How cool would that be to have Bobby Orr call your Mom on Mother’s Day? Your mother is not a hockey fan? No problem, you can designate the person of your choosing to receive a call from one of the greatest players of all-time.
The best part about this fundraiser is that all the proceeds will benefit organizations and initiatives that assist health care providers, first responders, and frontline works as they courageously battle COVID-19.
The Boston Bruins Foundation has already committed over $400,000 to various organizations and initiatives to battle the COVID-19 pandemic in our communities. We thank you for your continued support!
