Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore tests positive for COVID-19

BOSTON — Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore has tested positive for COVID-19, according to reports, and the team has canceled Wednesday’s practice.

Gilmore is now the third player on the team to test positive.

Quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday causing the game versus the Kansas City Cheifs to be postponed to Monday.

Practice squad Defensive tackle Bill Murray also tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.

The team’s Wednesday practice was canceled after the announcement of Gilmore’s positive test.

Gilmore played in Monday’s game against the Chief’s after originally testing negative.
