Eduardo Rodriguez tests positive for Coronavirus

BOSTON - Eduardo Rodriguez, the Red Sox top returning starting pitcher, has tested positive for the Coronavirus and will remain in quarantine for the timebeing.

Rodriguez was in the company of another person who tested positive, and indications late last week pointed to a possible positive test. Rodriguez has been experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 at his home in Florida.

He will need to test negative twice before returning to the squad.

Rodriguez is the fourth Red Sox player to test positive for the Coronavirus, along with Bobby Dalbec, Darwinzon Hernandez and Josh Taylor. Each of those players remain in quarantine.

Workouts continued at Fenway Park Wednesday afternoon, with 17 days remaining before the start of the 60-game regular season.
