Jaylen Brown encourages everyone to stay together in editorial

BOSTON — Celtics guard Jaylen Brown, sidelined with the rest of the NBA’s players because of the COVID-19 outbreak, wrote a powerful editorial released Sunday on The Guardian.

Brown, 23-years-old in his fourth season with the Celtics, commented on the social disparity he’s witnessed as Americans have been fighting the Coronavirus and encouraged people to stay together in a time of segregation and isolation.

“My intention in writing this editorial is to hopefully inspire our society to come together rather than drift farther and farther apart." wrote Brown. "In the midst of social distancing it is easy to segregate ourselves and our families from the outside world. I challenge you to do the opposite. Donate to your local food banks, homeless shelters and to those less fortunate in general.”
