DEDHAM, Mass. — In our High School GameDay Game of the Week this week, Natick goes into Newton and beats Newton North 35-6.
This Bay State Conference battle between Natick head coach Mark Mortarelli's 5-0 Redhawks and Mike Coppola's 3-2 Newton North Tigers was held under portable lights that were brought in for this game to Dickenson Field in Newton.
Newton North was led by their quarterback Andrew Landry, one of the best quarterbacks in the state. But Natick proves too much for the Tigers on this night. Their defense stifles Landry and the Newton North offense, holding them without a touchdown and limiting them to just two field goals.
On offense, Natick was led by QB Will Lederman, who rushed for one touchdown and led four other scoring drives that ended with four rushing touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns came from junior Jalyn Apont and the other two scores came from senior Terrance Cherry.
