As the Red Sox looked to rally after going down 4-0 in Game 4 of the World Series, Chris Sale became a vocal leader for the team during their comeback attempt.

Sale was seen on camera yelling at his teammates in the dugout, looking to fire up his squad and bring energy to what had become a lifeless team.

"I was down the tunnel and I heard someone yelling,'' Red Sox third baseman Brock Holt said, who later asked Mookie Betts who was yelling. "He said, 'Sale.' Oh, my God. He was mad at us."

Holt said the moment helped the Red Sox gain some momentum, battling back to take home a 9-6 win in Game 4 to set up a potential clincher in Game 5 Sunday night.

"I think that kind of lit a fire under everybody," Holt said. "We didn't want to see him mad anymore. So we decided to start swinging the bats a little bit.''

While the main reaction to the rant was a burst of energy, some of Sale's teammates said it created some fear.

"It scared me a little bit,'' Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers said through a translator. "I had never seen him yell like that, and the words that he was saying, I had never heard that come from him before. We came out sluggish, and that moment helped us get motivated for the rest of the game.''
