Even the most experienced gardeners have questions when it comes to cutting back hydrangeas. Because temperatures got so low this winter, plants like hydrangeas took a hit in that their old stocks won’t grow. Peter Mezitt, President of Weston Nurseries, says if there are no green leaves on the old stocks this time of year it is OK to cut down to the green leaves below. Good news is that hydrangeas grow fast, so it won’t be long before we see those beautiful flowers again!
