A woman died after being taken to the hospital following a crash on I-95 in Norwood, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Police said they responded on the southbound side of I-95 north of Exit 11 in Norwood around 5:40 p.m. Sunday night for a two-car crash.
The first car was driven by a 31-year-old Avon woman, who was taken to Norwood Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. She was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The second car was driven by a 37-year-old Sharon man, who was not injured.
Police say a preliminary investigation shows the woman was driving when her car went from the left lane into the middle lane and struck the Sharon man's car.
After hitting the Sharon driver's car, the Avon woman's car then came to rest against a tree after traveling into the median.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the reasoning for the woman moving into the middle lane was not immediately known.
No charges have been filed at this time.
