Woman says decoration bought at Savers turned out to be urn

On a trip to savers in Plymouth, Priscilla Bailey says a heart shaped ornament caught her eye.

“Right up here on the top, right across the top, it looks like angels or Vikings. They look like little angels, and there's all this work down here. It's really beautiful,” she told Boston 25 News.

She immediately found the perfect place to hang it, in front of her kitchen window where it could catch the light. And there it stayed for several weeks.

She said she didn't realize what was inside the urn until she used a flashlight to look.

“It's small. The two spots in it are small, the size of a golf ball,” she said.

Priscilla says that's when she realized her purchase could, in fact, be an urn containing someone's ashes. She told us she hasn't opened the heart because she doesn't want to spill whatever's inside.

Which is why her daughters contacted Boston 25 News, hoping to spread the word and reunite the urn with its original owner.

“I think they'd want it back for sure,” Bailey said. “I would. I would want it back.”

We went to Savers and spoke with the manager, hoping to find out who may have sold the urn to them. He referred us to the company's corporate headquarters. We have yet to hear back.

As for Bailey, she hopes the rightful owner will see this story. Until then, she'll continue to keep the heart safe and sound.

“I think it's pretty. It's beautiful. It still hangs in my kitchen, even though I think it's an urn. I just don't know what to do with it other than hang it up and wait,” she said.
