Woman arrested in fatal Boston hit-and-run

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 21-year-old Dorchester woman was held on $1,000 bail Friday for her alleged connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash.

Christina Martinez is charged with motor vehicle homicide, leaving the scene of a crash, and operating without a license for her alleged connection to the fatal Thursday night crash.

The crash happened just after 9 p.m. near Washington and Northampton Streets in the South End. Police said the victim, 63-year-old Vielisha Pullum, was taken to Boston Medical Center where she later died. Investigators said Martinez was not wearing glasses at the time of the crash, which is a violation of her license restriction.

Martinez has been ordered not to drive while her case is pending if she posts bail. Her next court date is scheduled for Oct. 23.
