Woman accused of taking back impounded car, crashing into employee

QUINCY, Mass. -- A woman in Quincy is accused of taking back her impounded car, and then striking an employee who tried to stop her.

The incident happened Tuesday at Bearde & Sons, right across the street from the Quincy Police Station.

Thirty-one-year-old Talithaan Lotoya Weekes of Weymouth allegedly walked onto the lot without identifying herself, got in her car, and took off without paying the impound fees.

“She comes pulling in another car, jumps out. I said 'wait, wait, wait a minute, you've tot to show me your license and stuff,'" Roger Bearde, the owner of the tow company, said.

Bearde said he was called to tow the vehicle Tuesday morning because it was blocking a street in Hough’s Neck.

“They were doing a water main down there and she blocked the whole street," Bearde said.

Around 4 p.m., she went to the lot while Bearde said he was helping another person with their car. As she took off, she allegedly hit him.

"[She] jumped in and threw it in reverse and hit me on the way back," he said.

Bearde said he was pushed back and sprained his wrist, but is otherwise OK.

Weekes is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. She was released on $500 bail and ordered to stay away from Bearde and his business. She declined to appear on camera, but told Boston 25 News: “It’s a false accusation. What I’m being charged for never happened.
