Whitinsville man accused of stabbing Northbridge police officer with double-headed spear

NORTHBRIDGE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) — A Whitinsville man is facing several charges after police say he stabbed a Northbridge police officer with a double-headed spear.

Adam Tillison, 27, was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Uxbridge District Court on charges of attempted murder, assault to murder, possession of a dangerous weapon, and many driving violations, including driving a motor vehicle with a revoked registration, driving with a suspended license and driving recklessly.

Northbridge authorities received a call from police in Milford on Friday asking for help pulling over a 2003 blue Jaguar that refused to stop in their town.

Police said they saw Tillison's car pass by at a high rate of speed and then turn onto High Street. That's when Tillison allegedly got out of his car and ran into a home at 11 High St.

Tillison then ran up the stairs to the second floor and grabbed a double-bladed spear, according to police, and stabbed Officer Thomas Dejordy.

The spear went through Officer Dejordy's protective vest and punctured his abdomen below his ribs. He was treated at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester and released.
