BOSTON — Boston mobster Whitey Bulger's longtime girlfriend has moved back to Massachusetts.
After serving the majority of her sentence in a federal prison in Minnesota, Catherine Greig was relocated to a Massachusetts facility on Wednesday morning.
Bulger and Greig were finally captured in Santa Monica on June 22, 2011 after spending 16 years on the run.
Greig pleaded guilty back in 2012 to identity fraud and harboring a fugitive. She pleaded guilty in 2016 to criminal contempt for refusing to cooperate with authorities against Bulger.
Greig, who has been in police custody for the past eight years, is said to be a "model" inmate and in good health.
According to the Boston Globe, the 67-year-old has spent her time behind bars training service dogs.
After arriving in Massachusetts, she was fitted for an electronic monitoring device in Bourne. She's expected to finish her sentence somewhere on the South Shore, possibly in Hingham.
