Walpole man wanted for allegedly 'upskirting'

WALPOLE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police are investigating a man in Walpole wanted for allegedly taking photos up women's skirts.

Police say this man is traveling to different towns and violating women's privacy by using a phone with a camera and taking pictures of their private areas.

One of the alleged victims doesn't want to be identified, but says she was shopping at Walpole Mall on Route 1 at the JoAnn Fabrics when she noticed something strange.

"I had a long skirt onto the floor and I felt something brush against my foot and my skirt got in from the back," she said.

The woman says she felt the man snap a picture of her and says at first she was "really mad."

She went on to say, "I wish I had tackled him."

But, the 50-year-old woman was brave and decided to take a picture of him.

Police Chief John Carmichael said, "What he is doing is very disheartening for the victims."

There were at least two upskirting incidents at JoAnn Fabrics in the last two weeks alone, then right next door, a woman was victimized at a Kohl's a couple of months ago, in one of the changing rooms.

In Norwood, the next town over, police think the same man struck again at TJ Maxx and he appears to be the same clothing.

After seeing a report on FOX25, police told FOX25's Michael Henrich that another victim came forward. It is unclear whether or not it is the same perpetrator.

Police say the man is doing this in broad day light, when kids are with their families. They're afraid what the man might do next.

Anyone with information is asked to call Walpole police.
