ROXBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Several people were injured and even killed in a string of shootings Wednesday night in Boston. One of the men killed in Roxbury was working to combat violence with something he loved most, baseball.

Angel Oller was one of two men shot on Ernst Street in Roxbury, Andrew Reed, 28, was the other. Oller who was called funny, caring and loyal by his friends, was working with a program called BASE to keep kids off the streets.

Robert Lewis founded BASE and said the kids involved in the program loved Oller. Everyone there got together Thursday night to remember Oller. They signed a team photo and shared their favorite memories of him.

The sudden loss of the 20 year old was a shock to his friends.

"Angel was like a brother to me. I was older than him but I would look up to him," his friend Raymond Melo said.

They say they will keep Oller in their hearts, and will keep playing baseball.

Boston police are asking for the public's help in finding whoever is responsible for the shootings. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-494-TIPS.
