Coast Guard suspends search for 3 fishermen after boat sinks off of Martha's Vineyard

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, Mass. — The United States Coast Guard has suspended the search for three missing fishermen on Monday a day after a boat out of New Bedford capsized and sank off Martha's Vineyard. The Coast Guard's announcement came around 5:45 p.m. on Monday afternoon.

According to a tweet, rescue crews from Air Station Cape Cod were able to recover one fisherman but were still searching for three other men who were aboard the fishing boat Leonardo.

A distress signal was sent from the vessel after it capsized and sank about 24 nautical miles southwest of Martha's Vineyard on Sunday.
