Unsolved: Susan Taraskiewicz stabbed and left in car near Logan Airport

BOSTON — Twenty four years ago, a Logan Airport baggage supervisor was found murdered in the trunk of her own car and there has never been an arrest.

FOX25's Bob Ward talked to the victim's mother about a new push to find the killer.

"I really thought that maybe within a year or so, we would have solved it," Marlene Taraskiewicz said.

Instead, it is now 24 years, and there is still no arrest in the mysterious murder of Susan Taraskiewicz.

Susan's body was discovered in the trunk of her car parked outside of an auto body shop in Revere on Sept. 14, 1992, not far from Logan.

Susan had been beaten and stabbed to death. Her mother told FOX25 there had been male coworkers harassing her.

"They wrote such filth about her in the middle of planes, all over. And then in her locker, they urinated in it. They drew a casket on it. It was just a constant thing," Marlene said.

Marlene suspects Susan's murder might be connected to a stolen credit card ring that was operating at the time out of the Northwest Airlines ramp.

Some of Susans' coworkers were arrested related to credit card fraud, but after all this time there has been no arrest for the murder.

"I know Susan is at peace. She's very happy. But we need that, and we need the Justice," Marlene said.

Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley now has a witness protection fund for anyone who fears retaliation if they come forward with information about Susan's case.

"In 24 years, not a week has gone by in which police and prosecutors haven't taken a call, run down a tip, or conferred on strategy in this case.  Regardless of who is responsible for Susan's murder or what the circumstances may have been, we strongly believe that someone out there has information that could help us solve it," Conley said.

State police are now bringing Susan's case to the forefront again. New billboards featuring her picture are about to be posted and information will be shared on social media.

There is a $250,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case. Tips can be left for Mass State Police through the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office by calling (617) 727-8817.
