Two firefighters hurt battling blaze in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Two firefighters were injured while battling a two-alarm blaze at a home on Plainfield Street in Springfield Saturday night.

Firefighters were called to the home just after 10:30 p.m. They said everyone inside was able to get out, although details on the firefighters’ injuries have not been released.

The fire was extinguished around 1 a.m. and according to the fire department it appears to have started on the second floor.

Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad is investigating.
