DELHI, TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Delhi Township is called the floral paradise of Ohio. But something didn’t smell right when a man believed to have stolen 14 cases of beer tried to return them.
The incident occurred Wednesday at a Kroger grocery store, WLWT reported.
According to a news release from the Delhi Township Police Department, the man loaded his cart with 14 cases of beer. Police said he then attempted to return the cases, saying that his wife bought the wrong brand.
“While employees were trying to confirm his story, the male became angry and left the store with the beer,” police said in the news release.
Kroger employees reviewed surveillance footage and determined that the man had never paid for the beer, WLWT reported. They reported the incident to authorities.
Delhi Police released several images of the man, taken from surveillance video.
Anyone with information on the identity of the man is asked to call the Delhi Township Police Department at 513-922-0060.
