NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Half a dozen deer briefly terrorized a Pennsylvania neighborhood Saturday, crashing through windows, denting garage doors and generally startling residents, whose home surveillance cameras captured some of the hooved intruders’ exploits.
Jackie Janes, one of the New Wilmington homeowners, told WKBN her doorbell camera recorded one of the uninvited guest’s grand entrances.
“The first door is a storm door that is made of glass, so (the deer) shattered that door, and then it came through the steel door that was shut, and it came flying in,” Janes said.
Meanwhile, 6-year-old Annabella Keeney said that a deer, determined to be a different animal than the one that exited Janes’ home, crashed through the picture window of her grandmother’s house, sending her scurrying upstairs.
“I said, ‘A deer came through the window, and it broke all the glass,’” Keeney told the TV station.
All told, six deer frolicked across a four-block area, damaging windows and doors on three homes and denting the garage door of a fourth, WKBN reported.
Meanwhile, George Endrizzi, who saw one of thee animals crash through Janes’ front door across the street, said that he found pieces of antler next to his dented garage door.
“I ran around to the back and saw where the deer hit here. They left like three horns behind,” Endrizzi told the TV station.
No injuries – to either people or deer – were reported.
