McDonald’s fan favorite milkshake, the Shamrock Shake, will return to stores across the United States at the end of the month.
In a news release, McDonald’s announced it was bringing back not only the Shamrock Shake, but also the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry for a limited time at its restaurants, beginning Feb. 21.
In a twist, this year McDonald’s also released the official color code of the drink, which is #cbf2ac, so that if you want to decorate something in the official color of the Shamrock Shake, you can.
The Shamrock shake is made of vanilla soft serve ice cream blended with mint flavor and a whipped topping. The Oreo Shamrock McFlurry, which debuted in 2020, is the same as the Shamrock Shake, but with Oreo cookie pieces.
The Shamrock Shake was first sold in 1970, and went on sale nationally for the first time in 2012, CNN reported.
In its news release, McDonald’s also suggested there might be more to the color code #cbf2ac, saying “starting Feb. 21, our Shamrock green hex code just might unlock another tasty secret. That is, if you know where to look. Be one of the first to figure out the mystery and you could get a little something special from us.”
