Sam Lloyd, known for his role as Ted Buckland on “Scrubs,” died of a brain tumor Thursday evening.
Doctors discovered in 2019 that Lloyd had an inoperable brain tumor that had metastasized from his lungs, according to Entertainment Weekly. Kevin Turner, a representative for Lloyd, told The Hollywood Reporter that he died Thursday night.
Lloyd was in 95 episodes of “Scrubs" and reprised the role on a season finale of “Cougar Town.” He also appeared in over two dozen television shows including “Modern Family,” “Night Court,” and “Seinfeld.” Lloyd is the nephew of Christopher Lloyd.
Friends and fans reached out on social media after learning of his death to remember the actor.
Rest In Peace to one of the funniest actors I’ve ever had the joy of working with. Sam Lloyd made me crack up and break character every single time we did a scene together. He could not have been a kinder man. I will forever cherish the time I had with you, Sammy. pic.twitter.com/wwyvGNbveG

This hurts my heart. Sam Lloyd was a massive talent and the kindest man. He was so supportive and even came out to act in some of my silly plays in a small theater at midnight. I once cast him in a LOST/CASTAWAY parody where he didn't hesitate to make out with a basketball. https://t.co/PUSVbk7qir pic.twitter.com/ovlwoCjkIi

I was just talking about Sam Lloyd and how amazing he was when he appeared on @DrKenABC. Oh man, this hurts. It was a true honor working with you. A genius and a gentleman. Rest In Peace. pic.twitter.com/iqvygeRbAQ
