GRAPEVINE, Texas — Kubota Tractor Corp. on Thursday recalled about 48,875 of its RTV-X1100C model utility vehicles amid crash and injury hazards posed by defective floor mats.
According to the recall notice, the floor mats on the affected model can warp or degrade, interfering with the throttle pedal.
Specifically, the recall involves model year 2013 through 2021 base model Kubota RTV-X1100C, and specific models may include an additional letter after the “C.” The serial numbers of the recalled units range from 10001 through 67546.
Grapevine, Texas-based Kubota has received one report of a loss of control to date that resulted in black eyes and minor bruising, the recall notice stated.
The affected vehicles were sold nationwide by authorized Kubota dealers from April 2013 through September 2021 for between $21,300 and $22,950.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled model and contact an authorized Kubota dealer.
According to the company, if the floor mat is warped or degraded, consumers will receive a new floor mat installed by the dealer that will be secured by rivets to the floor. If the utility vehicle’s floor mat is not warped or degraded, the dealer will complete a modification to the existing floor mat by trimming the mat and then securing it by rivets to the floor.
Kubota is contacting all known consumers directly, the notice stated.
