The CPSC said the tractors’ wheel hubs can fail and cause the tractors to lose braking and propulsion, resulting in a crash and/or injuries.
Only 160 tractors sold in the U.S. and an additional 30 sold in Canada are subject to the recall.
Owners should stop using the tractors immediately and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free repair. The company is also contacting known owners directly, the CPSC reported.
For more information, owners can call Deere & Company at 800-537-8233 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET Saturday.
