PAHOKEE, Fla. — A teacher in Florida has been reassigned and is facing charges after complaints he touched students inappropriately.
Stephen Goodman teaches International Baccalaureate sports and health sciences at Pahokee Middle-Senior High School, WPTV reported.
Goodman is facing charges after a 17-year-old girl, a student of Goodman’s, told police the teacher put his hand on her shoulder, then ran his hand down her breasts, WPTV reported. Another student told police he saw Goodman touch the girl, WPTV reported.
According to the arrest report, Goodman also commented on the victim’s bra and breast size in front of the class, and there were incidents where Goodman would tickle her or make inappropriate comments to her, WPEC reported.
According to the police report, “While investigating the new allegation that Goodman groped [that alleged victim]’s breast, two other female students came forward and reported that Goodman had placed his hands on their throats and choked them on separate occasions. Those two incidents were corroborated by witnesses and charges are being filed,” WPEC reported.
Documents obtained by WPTV claim Goodman grabbed an 18-year-old student in a “choke lock” on Jan. 26, and choked a 14-year-old on the same day.
According to police, Goodman denied all the charges when they interviewed him, WPTV reported.
In an email, the School District of Palm Beach County said, “The District cannot comment on the specifics of an active investigation. However, we can share that this employee has been reassigned to a non-student contact position pending the outcome of the investigation.”
