The ongoing labor dispute between MLB and the players union has forced the cancelation of spring training games through March 4, The Associated Press reported.

Sixteen games had been scheduled for Feb. 26.

This week was supposed to be the start of spring training, The New York Times reported.

The lockout started on Dec. 2 moments after the previous collective bargaining agreement expired, the Times reported.

The Athletic reported that there will be another meeting between the league and the players’ association on Monday.

The last meeting was only 15 minutes long, the AP reported.

CBS Sports says the lockout is owner-mandated and could be lifted while the sides hammer out a new agreement.

Commissioner Rob Manfred said in the past that teams will need about a month to start opening day by March 31, CBS Sports reported.
