O'FALLON, Mo. — This was a very unspecial delivery.
A Missouri family is angry after a botched delivery order also resulted in damage to a family member’s car.
Sharie Ford, of O’Fallon, told KMOV that her son ordered from an area Domino’s franchise at about 11:15 p.m. CDT on April 20. Ford said her family waited for several hours and called the restaurant several times, but the pizza never arrived, the television station reported.
Ford said her family went to sleep, but when they awoke the next morning, surveillance camera footage showed that a delivery driver delivered the food at about 11:45 p.m. CDT, according to KMOV. But instead of knocking at the door, the driver left the pizzas on top of a car outside the home and left, the television station reported.
The boxes remained on the car overnight until a dog sniffed the food and dragged it off the top of the car, KMOV reported. The dog’s actions left scratches on the hood of the car, which belonged to Ford’s daughter.
Family members said the dog left significant damage on the car. After calling Domino’s, the family said it is working with the company to get the vehicle repaired.
