Michael Strahan will be on next Blue Origin flight

Former NFL player and current morning news show host Michael Strahan is the next star who will see the stars.

Strahan announced on his show “Good Morning America” that he will be the next celebrity to board Jeff Bezos’s New Shepard spacecraft that sits atop the Blue Origin rocket.

He will join the eldest daughter of Alan Shepard, Laura Shepard Churchley, on the Dec. 9 mission, The Associated Press reported.

Four other paying customers will also be on the flight, which is the third made by Blue Origin this year.

Dylan Taylor, a space industry executive and philanthropist; Evan Dick, an investor; Lane Bess, Bess Ventures founder; and Cameron Bess, Lane Bess’s child, will also be on board, “Good Morning America” reported. The two Besses will be the first parent and child to fly into space together.

The flight will last 10 minutes and will launch from West Texas. Those on board will experience about three minutes of weightlessness before experiencing about 6 Gs, or six times the force of gravity, as the capsule returns to Earth, the AP reported.
