Warner Bros. announced that Hudson will be hosting her own daytime talk show that will air on Fox television stations, CNN reported.
“I have experienced so much in my life; I’ve seen the highest of the highs, the lowest of the lows, and just about everything in between but as my mother always told me, ‘Once you think you’ve seen it all, just keep on living,’” she said in a statement.
Hudson got her big break when she competed on “American Idol.” She didn’t win but was a finalist, Variety reported. That show kicked off her career that saw the release of multiple albums.
She also appeared in the big-screen version of the Broadway musical “Dreamgirls” in 2006, for which she won a best supporting actress Oscar.
Hudson recently appeared as Aretha Franklin in the biopic “Respect.”
“The Jennifer Hudson Show” will be one hour and will premiere in the fall after the end of the current Warner Bros.-produced talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” It is not being called a replacement, Variety reported.
However, Variety reported last year that Hudson’s test show was shot on the same stage that DeGeneres uses for her 19-year-old production and “Ellen” executive producers were Hudson’s showrunners.
