Has the past year put things into perspective? Want to have a different way of life that may feel more fulfilling? Then a town in Italy has a deal for you and it could cost less than a cup of coffee.
For only one euro or about $1.21, you could own a home in the town of Castiglione di Sicilia, CNN reported.
The town, which is located on the slope of Mount Etna, has about 900 homes that have been abandoned, Independent reported.
Keep in mind, the homes are not move-in ready and will need some work.
The homes that are in ruin will be one euro, the ones in better condition will be sold for between 4,000 and 5,000 euros, or about $4,828 to $6,036.
If you would like to pack everything up and move to a place where pasta and wine come in large supply, you should get a detailed plan written up, specifically which type of house you would like and how you would renovate the home and submit those plans to the town’s leaders.
If selected, you must complete the work within three years, Independent reported.
In the early 1900s, the population of the town was about 14,000. It is currently less than 3,000, CNN reported.
