Caitlin Cheyenne Harris, 22, of Decatur, was arrested Tuesday and charged seven counts, including aggravated reckless driving, failure to give information or render aid, aggravated battery and criminal damage to property, according to Macon County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.

According to police, Harris and her boyfriend were in an apartment when she tried to bite the man’s arms and hit him in the head with her hands, WAND-TV reported.

When the man attempted to leave, Harris allegedly followed him with a hammer, the television station reported.

According to a sworn statement, the man began recording Harris, who was driving in “an aggressive manner.”

Police said Harris began driving toward her boyfriend as he stood in a grassy area, WAND reported.

Harris’ vehicle missed the man but struck his son, who is less than 10 years old, the television station reported.

It was unclear what the condition of the child was Friday.

Online records show that Harris posted bail on Wednesday and was released from custody.
