WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A North Carolina family organized a photoshoot for their grandma’s 90th birthday, and “G-Ma” was up for the task.
When photographer Melissa Denny was approached by childhood friends to do a glamorous photoshoot for their grandmother, she was excited.
The family had some definite ideas, and “G-Ma” was game. So was Denny.
“They actually had it all organized. They had all these ideas. They had the tutu,” Denny told WXII-TV. “They ordered, everything you saw was from them. They had the shirt made, the cake, the fancy chair. They had cookies with her face on it.”
The family chose Reynalda Gardens in Winston-Salem as the location for the photoshoot, and “G-Ma” was in great spirits and unafraid to strike a few glamorous poses, the television station reported.
“With a throne, crown, tutu, and photoshoot in the Gardens, this Queen knows how to rule her 90th birthday!” Denny wrote on Facebook. “Happy Birthday, G-Ma!”
After Denny posted the photos on Facebook on May 25, the response was immediate. There was plenty of love for a woman beginning her 10th decade.
“I feel honored and privileged to be a part of it and I am just thankful I got to meet G-Ma,” Denny told WXII. “It was a really fun experience that I will never forget.”
