GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A fire at a commercial building has prompted evacuations in Washington state, authorities said late Thursday.
According to KIRO-TV, the blaze broke out Thursday at the Washington Potato Co. in Warden. Grant County sheriff’s deputies said the fire poses a risk of an ammonia tank explosion, the news outlet reported.
On Thursday night, authorities issued a level 3 evacuation notice for portions of Grant County, according to KIRO. The evacuation included areas west of Road U Southeast and south of state Route 170 in Warden, the notice said, adding that people there should leave immediately.
“Do not delay,” the notice said. “Law enforcement officers will go door-to-door to notify persons in the level 3 area.”
