NEW ORLEANS — A “wanted” poster won’t be much help as police in New Orleans search for a suspect linked to a Saturday stabbing in the French Quarter.
The New Orleans Police Department is seeking the public’s help locating a street performer known to wear a Chewbacca costume, a character popularized by the “Star Wars” franchise, in connection to the stabbing, WVUE reported.
According to police, the unidentified man dressed in full Wookiee regalia stabbed someone just before 9 p.m., following an argument on Toulouse Street, the TV station reported.
A witness told authorities that the performer’s costume head came off during the fight and that the assailant appeared to be a man in his 20s, NOLA.com reported.
The condition of the victim was not released, the outlet reported.
