KOKI reported that the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has transitioned the case into a search for Athena Brownfield’s remains and they believe they will find the little girl’s body somewhere in Caddo County.

Four-year-old Athena, along with her 5-year-old sister, had been in the care of Alysia Adams. It was discovered that Athena was missing when a postal carrier found her older sister outside Adams’ home without adult supervision on Jan. 10, OSBI officials said in a news release.

Adams, along with her husband were charged recently. The two children had been in Adams’ care for at least a year.

Adams is facing two counts of child neglect, KOKI reported last week. Ivon Adams was arrested and accused of child neglect, The Associated Press reported.
