Alex Trebek estate sale draws hundreds to late ‘Jeopardy!’ host’s Studio City home

STUIDO CITY, Calif. — For the past three days, ‘Jeopardy!’ fans have flocked to the Studio City, California, home of the late Alex Trebek for a chance to own a little piece of Hollywood history.

Trebek, who hosted the syndicated quiz show for 37 seasons, died stage four pancreatic cancer at the age of 80 in November 2020.

An estate sale, which runs through Sunday, is giving fans a chance to enter the longtime TV personality’s inner sanctum.

“I got myself a nice bottle of whiskey that I am going to toast Alex Trebek tonight, when I watch ‘Jeopardy!’ Don Brennan, who waited in line with his wife, Pam, for two hours to enter the estate, told KABC-TV.

“I got this lovely tie and one of his canes, but I tell you, most of the fun is just being at his house. Very cool – it is,” he added.

Items for sale include a director’s chair with Trebek’s name, furniture, fine china, clothing and an “abundance of artwork,” People magazine reported.

Sculptures, books and even autographed memorabilia are also in the mix, KABC-TV reported.

“Alex is a legend, as we all know, and I just wanted to have something of his,” Duane Shell, who bought both gold-initialed bookends and white linens bearing a large monogrammed “T,” told the TV station.

Trebek purchased the Mediterranean-style home, built in 1923, for $2.15 million in 1991, roughly seven years after he assumed the role of “Jeopardy!” host, People reported.

Earlier this year, his daughter, L.A.-based real estate agent Emily Trebek, listed the estate for $7 million. The home is co-listed with fellow Compass agent, Renee Ogiens, the entertainment news outlet reported.
