LONG BEACH, Calif. — Three people, including a teen, were injured Saturday night in a shooting near a busy shopping center in Southern California.
Two men and a 13-year-old boy were wounded around 7:30 p.m. when gunmen opened fire from a car passing by the Pike Outlets in downtown Long Beach, KNBC reported.
The victims were taken to hospitals. Two were in stable condition and the third was in critical condition, KCBS reported.
One of the bullets struck a Hooters restaurant near the Pike Outlets.
Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna said three people were detained for questioning, KNBC reported.
“From what I understand, it was a very chaotic scene,” Luna said, WCBS reported. “Thank God we had several officers on the spot, and our officers are amazing. They reacted quickly. We have someone of interest detained that we think may be responsible for this horrific crime.”
