The occupants were thrown from the vehicle, police said. A 21-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A 27-year-old man was taken to a hospital where he died. A third person, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. None of the victim’s identities have been released. It is unclear if anyone was wearing a seat belt. Corvettes only have two seats.

It is unclear if speed, drugs or alcohol were a factor, KCBS reported. The speed limit on the road is 45 mph but decreases to 15 mph at the curve. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Arthur Guerrero heard the crash and found the victims on his pool deck. He was glad it happened early in the morning.

“My grandkids come over and go swimming,” he told KABC. “They came Fourth of July and they came on the fifth, the day after, they came swimming again. Lucky it didn’t happen then.”

Neighbors said the intersection is the frequent scene of accidents.

“The more (neighbors) call, the more exposure that intersection is going to get,” Chino Police Sgt. Jesus Jacquez told KNBC.
